Hope Helps TN

Hope Helps TN. is a non-profit organization helping people with food, clothing, and household items. We are open on Thursdays by appointment to help with the community’s needs. We are located behind Walgreens in the shopping center. 4540 West Stone Drive; Kingsport, TN. Mark your calendars. We will be offering our yard sales on the first Saturday of each month. 9am to 12pm (March-November) Grab your coat and a friend! The hunt will begin, and you will have a lot of fun finding things you didn't know you needed. Most items will be featured inside the building! Plenty of everything. Clothing, household goods, toys, tools. Many items are new. Come and find the deals! All proceeds go to help your neighbors in need! We appreciate your support. We also take donations of items to share with our clients on Thursdays 10:30-3:30.

Heritage Beekeepers

Our meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at the American Legion Post 21 located at 1924 East Main Street.The first meeting of each month is an evening meeting from 6-7pm in the upstairs area of the American Legion and the second meeting of each month is a lunch meeting from 12-1pm in the upstairs area of the American Legion.We will have food available if anyone wants to attend either of the meetings and we will need to know prior to the meeting if you want to order food. The Appalachian Homesteaders Association, a Rogersville based 501c3 non-profit organization, has been dedicated to its mission of providing information, training and demonstrations to help its members grow and improve their farms, gardens and homesteads. Our organization focuses on preserving the Constitution and our God-given rights, encouraging civic education to the public on our God-given rights, and serving the community in Hawkins County. The VFW Food Pantry will be doing their Veteran Food Distribution on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. They will be distributing the food at the VFW in Rogersville at 12 noon. Veterans are to bring ID.

Happy Hearts Quilt Guild

Happy Hearts Quilt Guild meets on the first Friday of every month, our next meeting is June 2nd, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church on 621 Old Stage Road in Surgoinsville, TN. Coffee & socializing begins at 9:30am and the meeting begins at 10:00am. Our group is for all, for those interested in making their first quilt to the most experienced quilter. Array of Hope Ministries

Array of Hope Ramos Ministries is a nonprofit 501C3 Missions Organization, offers disaster relief items to individuals in need. We have a thrift store that helps to fund our Senior's Hope, a mission to homebound shut-in Seniors, and a free clothing program for the homeless and low income in Hawkins and surrounding counties. We also have free give/take food distribution daily. We are located at 320 S Armstrong Rd in Rogersville. Donations are always welcomed! Heritage Bee Club

Will be meeting on the second Thursday of each month in the Shepherd Center annex behind the Marketplace at 101 Brownlow in Rogersville. Doors open at 6pm and the meeting starts at 6:30 Come and join us to share and learn more about beekeeping. April meeting will discuss swarm capture.

Community Clothes Closet

Community Clothes Closet located at 118 Hwy. 11W Suite F (in the Food Lion shopping complex) has served the region for more than 25 years. We are a non profit organization with all the proceeds staying in the community. We have a variety of different things. Our store hours are Tues-Fri 10-4:30 and Saturday 10-3:30. Our store operates on donations. Our store also helps families in the community in need.

4th Monday Knife Trade

Buy, sell, trade, tall tales and good times! That's right, every 4th Monday of the month is knife trade night! Vendors - No charge to set up! American Legion Post 21 Monthly Meetings

Local school systems provide services for special needs children and young adults, ages 3 years to 21 years, who reside within the system's discrict. Douglas Cherokee's Education Program

Douglas Cherokee’s Educational Opportunity Centers Program (EOC) is now serving the citizens of Hawkins County. Are you an adult wanting to go to college or TCAT? Do you need help completing your FAFSA or help with FAFSA verification or scholarships? Or are you an adult wanting to get your GED/HiSET? Let EOC help you achieve your educational and career goals! Community Lending Libraries

The Hancock and Hawkins County Health Departments and the College of Public Health at ETSU are providing three community lending libraries located at each of the health departments. The “Little Libraries” will be located outside in Rogersville and Church Hill and inside at Sneedville. To donate new or gently used children’s books, contact one of the health departments.

The Lighthouse Community Center

The center will be open each Wednesday from 11:00a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,located on 712 Caney Creek Rd in Rogersville. The Health Safety Standards of masks and social distancing will be in place.

Earn Your High School Diploma for Free

The State of Tennessee will pay for your high school equivalency diploma test as long you complete pre-testing requirements with the program. Call (865) 657-1138 for more information or to schedule your pre-testing. We are located at the American Job Center in Morristown.

The Appalachian Homesteaders Association

The Appalachian Homesteaders Association meets on the first Tuesday of every month at Holston Electric Auditorium in Rogersville at 7:00 p.m. The purpose of the association is to share knowledge of sustainable agriculture, homestead systems, and small acreage farming with association members and the entire community.
There are many topics of interest, including, but not limited to, home water and power supply, raising poultry and small animals, sustainable farming, growing and using medicinal herbs, beekeeping, and permaculture. For more information, call (423) 272-2309 or email us.

Coast Guard Auxiliary

We are coming to Cherokee and Douglas Lake to serve the boaters in distress and assist in Recreational Boating Safety. We are an all-Volunteer Force Multiplier created in 1939 by the US Coast Guard to serve and help in local and regional water. We are actively recruiting for members in the East TN area. Hawkins County Cancer Support Group Monthly Meeting

The Hawkins County Cancer Support Group will meet on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Hope Community Church on Hwy 11W in Rogersville. Our mission is to educate and inform, as well as to financially assist families as needs arise. Travel is expensive, medicines are expensive, and life can be hard after a diagnosis of cancer. Telamon Early Head Start

We are recruiting children for our Early Head Start center located in the Greene County side of Bulls Gap. Telamon Early Head Start is accepting applications for free child care for families with children six weeks to 3 years of age. Services include free childcare five days a week. Free Adult Education Classes

Adult Education classes are offered Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and night classes are offered Monday and Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. We have free classes and free testing. It is the best time to work on obtaining your High School Equivalency degree. We also have access to different programs for financial aid if students are interested in furthering their education after getting their diplomas. Mooresburg Friends and Neighbors Thrift Store

The Mooresburg Friends and Neighbors Thrift Store is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday each week from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All proceeds benefit Mooresburg Community Center, a nonprofit organization that provides over 45 hot meals per day. For more information, call (423) 293-0073.

Hawkins County Election Commission Meetings

The commission meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 3:45 p.m.in the Election Office conference room on the 2nd floor of the Courthouse Annex to conduct any business that comes before the commission. The Rogersville Community Based Outpatient Walk-In Flu Clinic for Veteransis open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00p.m., and is closed on federal holidays. 401 Scenic Dr # 201, Rogersville, TN 37857 phone (423) 235-1471 Regulations require that veterans be enrolled at Mountain Home or one of the community-based outpatient clinics, and veterans must meet the Center for Disease Control guidelines.

CEASE Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault

CEASE Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault aids in developing and securing resources for victims of family violence and sexual assault and provides sanctuary to victims and their families. It is a nonprofit organization serving Claiborne, Grainger, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, and Union Counties in East Tennessee.
Our program has two emergency shelters in Hamblen and Claiborne Counties with a combined total of 26 beds. CEASE was founded in 1980 in response to the need for safe shelter for women and children who were displaced from their homes because of domestic violence. In 1999, it became a dual-issue program, also responding to the need for crisis services and advocacy for victims of sexual assault.
CEASE, Inc. provides services to persons without regard to race, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity (or expression), religion, handicap, or disability. CEASE prohibits harassment by employees based on race, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity (or expression), religion, and national origin. For more information, call (423) 581-7029.
